Hey guys,

MURDOCKS server has CHEAT PROTECTION now.

NO MORE AIMBOT hacks, or CHEAT-SKINS..
too bad for <YourNameHere>, now you gotta play without cheating.

I installed and activated the Ut2k4Secure patch from EPIC.

Let me know if you have ANY problems connecting or working on the server..

How about an pulbic NJLP server and a Private..

Post by Digger[NJLP] »

Stuff like this really burns my butt..

http://unrealaimbots.50webs.com/

Even if the above hacks now don't work, they did and their are probably more out there that do..

The servers we all setup usually sit empty to begin with, until friends play or one or two players join and then the vultures swoop in. The problems are the people who join, (the swoopers) who are the 24/7 players that script everything and create a less then entertaining game. Especially if it gets obvious that they are using hacks and such.

Does punkbuster work in UT? Just a thought..

Why not manage the server and allow only people in that we know and/or trust.

We can get a few admins to manage the server and have a forum here for requesting entry to the server. Members can host friends as trusted well rounded players. Once they're in the "Circle of Trust" they can join the private server anytime they want.

This Circle of trust can include every game server NJLP hosts.

I'm not saying all of our servers should be this way, perhaps, having a public server and a private server may be smart.

I don't think this level of management would be to much to deal with and would make the server itself more attractive.

Organization breeds satisfied users.

Using some of the sponsors we get for the LAN Parties we could even start hosting on-line tournaments for "certified" people and give away stuff for the winners.

Now I know I have been out of touch for awhile and I rarely come to LAN parties anymore, but we have to start generating more interest in the site, the forum, and our servers.

Murdock is the backbone and hosts a majority of the servers. Then again he's the only guy I know with multiple broadband connections. Though I'm sure each of us would be willing to host one server.

Anyway.. just some ideas...

Digs..
Bleh, Signatures mean nothing to me!
